After an incredible reading at the Paula Cooper Gallery the night before, Krasznahorkai sat down with WNYC's Leonard Lopate for a discussion of his work on June 12. If you missed it live, you can listen here. And be sure to have a look at his "guest picks," too.
Announced at ceremony on June 10, Michael Palmer won the Northern California Book Award in poetry for his collection Thread. Congratulations from all of us at New Directions.
Fans of electronic reading devices might have noticed that we're slowly but surely and steadily making our titles available in ebook format. Today we're very pleased to announce that almost all of the Roberto Bolaño titles we publish are finally available for your various e-readers, waiting to be downloaded.
And while we're at it, we thought we'd let you know that several of Clarice Lispector's novels — including the four recent translations and Benjamin Moser's re-translated edition of The Hour of the Star — are also available. Enjoy.
If you happen to live near — or be visiting — Denmark in late August, you might want to look at the roster of participants for this year's Literature Festival at the Louisiana Museum in Denmark. César Aira, Anne Carson, and Patti Smith will all be in attendance, not to mention friend and fan of New Directions Nicole Krauss.
Learn more at Lousiana's website.
If you haven't visited to the New Directions blog lately, you might have missed a few summer reading suggestions and an appreciation of one of H.D.'s best author photos.
You can also follow us on Twitter if that's your thing. And we occasionally give away books there — stay tuned.
